Show Up Like You Mean It

Why intention is the difference between being visible, and being truly trusted

There’s something magnetic about people who show up with purpose. It’s not just their energy; it’s the trust they create, the clarity they offer, and the space they open for others to be real too. That all starts with one thing: intent.

Someone said something to me the other night that really stayed with me.

“You light up when you talk about what you do.”

It wasn’t just a compliment, although yes, it felt good to hear.

It was a mirror. One that reflected something I don’t always stop to recognise in myself:

That I show up with intent.

And when you do that - when you show up with real purpose - people feel it.

They trust it. They trust you.

Because there’s a difference between showing up just to be seen… and showing up because you believe in what you’re doing.

Intent isn’t loud. But it is powerful.

Intent doesn’t have to shout. It doesn’t need to dominate the room.

But when it’s real, when your energy, your body language, and your words all line up with what matters to you, it becomes magnetic.

Not because you’re trying to prove anything.

But because you’re grounded.

And people trust grounded.

When you’re intentional in how you speak, how you connect, how you lead, you create the kind of space where people feel safe to be themselves too.

That’s what I care about.

This isn’t about performance. Or being “on.”

It’s about presence.

Showing up because it means something to you.

Because you care.

Because you know who you are.

Intent builds trust.

And not just in you - but in others.

When we lead with intent, we make it easier for others to trust themselves.

To speak up. To take space. To admit they don’t know. To feel like they belong.

That’s the kind of environment I want to be part of and help build. One where it’s safe to be confident and vulnerable. Ambitious and humble.

One where you can light up when something matters to you - and not feel like you have to dim it down.

Because here’s the truth:

People don’t need you to be perfect.

They just need to know you mean it.

So if you’re wondering how to build trust, or how to lead with more confidence - maybe start here:

  • Show up like you mean it

  • Speak with purpose

  • Let people see what lights you up

  • Be intentional - not polished

  • Be human - not perfect

That’s what people connect to.

That’s what creates space.

That’s what makes a difference.

What does showing up with intent look like for you: in your work, your brand, or your leadership? I’d love to hear. Let’s open this up… what does intentional presence mean in your world?
